The Making of Winston- The Queer Film Short by Jamaican Director Tanya Taylor

How did you Make This Thing? is a video interview series by Ingrid Riley, Founder of Rebel Grrl Media, OutCaribe’s parent company. The show interviews Caribbean Content Creators about why and how they do what they do.

In this first episode, Ingrid speaks to Tanya Taylor- Jamaican Writer, Producer Director based in New York for the past 5 years.

Tanya has been in the content creation game, primarily as a writer, producer, and director of TV commercials for the past 20 years. You’ve created award-winning commercials for brands such as KFC and Pizza Hut.

She has also done quiz shows, game shows, and reality TV series for brands like Digicel and Heinekin.

But. Just last year, she wrote, directed, and produced your first narrative film short, WINSTON.
